DARN DRY SKIN

RADIO HEALTH PEARL #468 …brought to you by the Gesundheit! Nutrition Center.

Living in Montana brings the challenge of dry skin. This is not only frustrating, but it can be downright painful!

For many people it affects the hands, thereby causing peeling skin, paper-cuts, bleeding and skin getting stuck in blouses and other clothing. Other parts can get affected as well, causing rashes, itching and a variety of allergic-type symptoms.

In general, I suggest people may be too low in their essential fat uptake from fish, flax, borage, evening primrose, butter and coconut oil. And trying TABLESPOONS FULL instead of capsules may bring improvement within about a week.

Another option for dry skin could be an increase in the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, because these contain antioxidants that protect the skin.

Also, you may be deficient in the mineral ZINC, especially in the wintertime. Adequate amounts of ZINC are necessary for the proper functioning of the oil-producing glands of the skin.

SUPPLEMENTS FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

RADIO HEALTH PEARL #424 ….brought to you by the Gesundheit! Nutrition Center.

I would like to explain a few more things about HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE:

There are those who have a genetic High Blood Pressure problem. They are healthy otherwise; but not for insurance companies, which only look at numbers. A similar fate affects those with genetic high cholesterol.

Anyway, there are natural options available to assist in reducing high blood pressure. Several of these have excellent track records:

As far as HERBS are concerned, look into Hawthorn, Butchers Broom, Horse chestnut and Garlic.

Then there are the MINERALS Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium and Copper that show continued success.

VITAMINS and AMINO ACIDS that are helpful in lowering blood pressure include Vitamin B-Complex, C and E, Coenzyme Q10, Arginine and Carnitine.

These may all have to be taken in higher amounts than your current dosage, or those found in a multivitamin, so pay attention to that. Higher amounts may help other issues as well.
