DARN DRY SKIN

RADIO HEALTH PEARL #468 …brought to you by the Gesundheit! Nutrition Center.

Living in Montana brings the challenge of dry skin. This is not only frustrating, but it can be downright painful!

For many people it affects the hands, thereby causing peeling skin, paper-cuts, bleeding and skin getting stuck in blouses and other clothing. Other parts can get affected as well, causing rashes, itching and a variety of allergic-type symptoms.

In general, I suggest people may be too low in their essential fat uptake from fish, flax, borage, evening primrose, butter and coconut oil. And trying TABLESPOONS FULL instead of capsules may bring improvement within about a week.

Another option for dry skin could be an increase in the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, because these contain antioxidants that protect the skin.

Also, you may be deficient in the mineral ZINC, especially in the wintertime. Adequate amounts of ZINC are necessary for the proper functioning of the oil-producing glands of the skin.

BRAIN-FATS

RADIO HEALTH PEARL #438 …brought to you by the Gesundheit! Nutrition Center.

IT IS TRUE THAT OUR BRAINS NEED FAT!

Brain cells constantly communicate with neurons, the building blocks of the nervous system by using neurotransmitters. Fat is needed to keep these cells active and healthy.

Three fats come to mind immediately: Cod-Liver Oil, Lecithin, and Coconut Oil.

It is essential that all students start taking at least a tablespoon of these fats daily.

COD LIVER OIL has shown improvement in memory and vision, as well as a reduction in episodes of anxiety and ADD/ADHD.

LECITHIN is a type of fat needed by every living cell in our body, because it nourishes the cell membranes, which regulate nutrition going into and out of the cells.

Watch your student focus better, be more alert, and able to tackle more complicated brain tasks while taking a tablespoon of COCONUT OIL daily,

All these three fats taste very good! And they are available at …the Gesundheit! Nutrition Center on North 19th Avenue.
