RADIO HEALTH PEARL #383 …brought to you by the Gesundheit! Nutrition Center.
When I get asked about the amino acid L-Tyrosine, usually my first reaction is explaining its importance as a food for the thyroid. The other food is IODINE.
L-Tyrosine attaches to iodine atoms to become active thyroid hormone. And since I’ve talked in the past about the rampant misdiagnosing of people with hypothyroidism (or under-active thyroid), supplemental L-Tyrosine would benefit almost everybody.
Tyrosine is also a precursor of adrenaline, and of our neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine. Neurotransmitters are important for our mood and nervous system, which are often involved with how we eat. Tyrosine therefore helps people lose weight and body-fat.
And, if you are suffering from anxiety, depression, low libido, chronic fatigue and low body temperature, 1,500 mg or so, of this amino acid L-Tyrosine is definitely something you want to research and possibly make part of your daily supplementation.
A good selection, and more info, is available to you …at the Gesundheit! Nutrition Center on North 19th Avenue.
